Mr. Dennis,

I would gladly volunteer my time to give small, unstructured clinics in the following areas:

- How to consistently finish one out of the money
- How to over-react to every situation in pool
- How to draw the same person in the first round 4 out of 5 tournaments in a row
- How to make yourself look like an ass on pool forums (advanced topics)

Just let me know and I will provide a course syllabus for each clinic as I am very apt at all 4 :D :) :o  :?

Ok... Ok.... Ok... seriously. I would be one to volunteer my time. I'm not sure anyone would want to learn from me. But I could probably talk about 14.1 - strategies and tactics, position play, known shots, and fundamentals relatively decently. And I could probably talk about general stroke fundamentals and 9/10 ball strategies like I might know a nugget here or there. In all seriousness, I love helping players learn new things and have helped a few in our straight pool league over the last 5 months.

Alright, fire away forum members!!!

Ray,

If you are willing to take on that task, that would be fine with us. I think you may find it difficult to have the time, especially when you are still trying to compete in the tourney. Seems like it would be more manageable for someone who was not in the tourney. Anyhow, i need all the help i can get with this game, i may be the first student. ;)

Between getting there at 10 to set up, taking entry fees, doing the draw, (getting no practice time), helping to run the tourney, doing raffle, selling items for the tour, playing in the tourney, (trying to eat occassionally), assisting with the live stream, there is just no time left.

Well........ this quote opens up a whole new can of worms. You gotta do All of this? We know half of your help is stuck on the 202, but where is the lug Bull? Suggestion Dennis. "Google" - "Time Management" Be nice. :o

My only concern with A/B/C sidepots, or even a staggered entry fee, as some have suggessted, is what determines these rankings. If we base if off of the "Arizona Ratings" such as 10 and above (A), 8-9 (B), 7 below (C), then we are doing exactly what we don't want to do. We are tying it to the "Arizona Ratings". Our whole intent was to have an "Open" tour that everyone could participate in, without having to deal with any ratings system. At the same time, i do realize that the ratings system is a part of life here in the desert when it comes to pool.

As far as a "clinic", I think that is an excellent idea. If there is anyone that would be willing to donate their time, much like Don Rose did, it would be greatly appreciated. You are correct, i learned a tremendous amount from Don, during those Wednesday night tourneys. I wish he were still around to teach all of us a few more things. Recently, i was approached by a new tour member at one of our events. He is a "B" level player, who is looking to improve his game. At the last Bullshooter's event, i took him aside for about an hour, and showed him some things to improve his 8/9 ball game.

I wish i could do this more often at the events; however, it would be impossible. Between getting there at 10 to set up, taking entry fees, doing the draw, (getting no practice time), helping to run the tourney, doing raffle, selling items for the tour, playing in the tourney, (trying to eat occassionally), assisting with the live stream, there is just no time left. Besides, I'm not sure that anyone wants to learn anything from me. :)

Not so fast on Frosty winning the one pocket event. Have you ever seen me play one pocket? I have some secret weapons, such as the the bank break that Rudy was pulling at Bullshooter's. Works like a charm! He will have his work cut out for him. When i send him to the bleachers, i will ask if he can report to the clinic and give some one pocket lessons.

......OUCH!!! ;)

I've heard this from numerous people... you're definitely not the first one to mention this to me. I must play really slow. However, I can assure you, in my mind everything is very fast. :ugeek:

So what's the dealio... are we gonna have a 48" plasma hi-def screen to see the brackets on or what? :D

And what of the catering (shrimp, prime rib, mini pizza bagels, etc...)? I mean it's not like this tour is non-profit or something! :o

Wait a minute...
